We mostly keep the streets clear of monsters, whether it's when the Door opens, the gods bring them in themselves, or we get toted to another planet. We occasionally have to keep the peace when the gods pit us against one another, too.

Other than that, it's about helping people. If someone needs escorting out of the Colosseum, we do it. They put out a distress call, we answer as soon as we can and see what we can do. It takes all kinds, even with us.
( Well, that's... interesting. Not so much the monsters, but the gods pitting against one another. It doesn't increase his liking of these beings that call this city home any, that much is certain. )
Are monsters the only threat here?
( It sounds like a dream, but even in the smallest villages where they've been hired to do nothing more than rebuild houses, Steak has witnessed humans being as cruel to each other as time is to them. )
